Jitraporn (Pimm) Vongsvivut 26th ACMM “2020 Visions in Microscopy”

Jitraporn (Pimm) Vongsvivut

Dr. Jitraporn (Pimm) Vongsvivut is an experienced physical chemist with the expertise in state-of-the-art vibrational spectroscopic techniques and chemometric analysis. Her vision is to develop and exploit the latest developments in optics and imaging technology for qualitative and quantitative analysis in both fundamental and applied fields across multiple research disciplinary. She has been an experienced synchrotron-FTIR user at NSLS, SOLEIL and Australian Synchrotron. Since becoming the IR beamline scientist at the Australian Synchrotron in 2015, she has developed two new macro ATR-FTIR techniques at the IR beamline including soft-contact piezo-controlled and in-house (hybrid) macro ATR-FTIR devices. These devices have been successfully applied and proved to be effective for a diverse range of user research at the IR beamline, maintaining our status at the forefront of the international synchrotron-IR facility. She has published numerous papers as primary and co-author in international and high-impact journals as part of her PhD and via collaborative projects, and has assisted with many experiments and beamline developments as part of her role at the synchrotron.
